Training Officer

​

Job Description & Responsibilities:

 

This is a full-time hybrid role as a Training Officer at Grow Sustainability Consulting at our offices in Nicosia or Limassol, Cyprus with the flexibility for some remote work. The Training Officer will be responsible for developing and delivering ESG capacity building programs that aim to enhance professionals knowledge and skills in the field of Sustainability. Day-to-day tasks include developing training content and material, evaluating training effectiveness, and collaborating with teams to meet organizational goals.

 

This will require:

 

  • An in-depth understanding of related EU regulations and directives such as the Corporate Sustainability Reporting Directive (CSRD), Corporate Sustainability Due Diligence Directive (CS3D), EU Taxonomy, Sustainable Financial Disclosures Regulation (SFDR) and other recent initiatives brought forward by the EU Green Deal

  • In-depth knowledge of Corporate Sustainability Reporting Standards and frameworks such as the European Sustainability Reporting Standards (ESRS), the Global Reporting Initiative Standards (GRI), TCFD, IFRS S1&2 etc

  • The facilitation of ESG Impact, Risk and Opportunity (IRO) Assessments through practical training programs

  • Conducting primary research for the purpose of identifying stakeholders' views and priorities on Sustainability issues, analysing results and presenting these to clients.

  • Exploring emerging sustainability best practices

  • Staying updated on new developments in the field of ESG such as new policies, regulations and Directives

  • Following and analysing market trends

 

Candidate Profile:

 

We are ideally seeking a candidate with the following qualifications and skills:

 

  • At least 2 years relevant work experience

  • Sustainability related studies

  • HRDA Trainer Certification will be considered an advantage

  • Experience in designing and delivering professional training programs

  • Strong presentation and facilitation skills (both theoretical & practical)

  • Excellent writing and verbal presentation skills, with the ability to distil and communicate complex details and data into consumable insights

  • Exceptional organizational skills, including attention to detail

  • Strong executive presence, with the ability to present to senior management and external stakeholders

  • Ability to excel in a high-performance, professional environment, while managing multiple projects under tight deadlines

  • Strong initiative, entrepreneurial spirit and ability to think creatively

  • Strong interpersonal skills, including the ability to influence, work collaboratively with others, and proactively cultivate relationships with a diverse range of external partners

  • Analytical Skills

  • Ability to work both independently and in a team

Sustainability Reporting Officer

​

Job Description & Responsibilities:

The Corporate Sustainability Reporting Officer will report to the Managing Director. His/ her main duties include undertaking the compilation of clients’ annual Corporate Sustainability Reports in accordance with European & International regulations and standards.


This will require:

 

  • An in-depth understanding of related EU regulations and directives such as the Corporate Sustainability Reporting Directive (CSRD), Corporate Sustainability Due Diligence Directive (CS3D), EU Taxonomy, Sustainable Financial Disclosures Regulation (SFDR) and other recent initiatives brought forward by the EU Green deal

  • Drafting disclosures for clients’ ESG reports in accordance with recognized Reporting Standards [e.g. European Sustainability Reporting Standards (ESRS) Global Reporting Initiative (GRI), IFRS S1 & 2 and Task Force on Climate-related Financial Disclosures (TCFD) in collaboration with clients’ ESG teams

  • Conducting ESG Impact, Risk and Opportunity (IRO) Assessments utilizing EFRAG’s Implementation Guidance

  • Incorporating IRO results into clients’ existing Enterprise Risk Management (ERM) Frameworks through the implementation of robust Due Diligence mechanisms across clients’ value chains.

  • Conducting Double Materiality Assessments (impact & financial materiality)

  • Developing clients’ ESG Strategies and action plans (short, medium & long term) utilizing CCS (Climate Change Scenarios)

  • Collecting, consolidating, analysing and presenting ESG data to assist in clients’ decision making process through year-on-year reports on agreed KPI’s

  • Engaging with clients’ internal and external stakeholders to develop a thorough understanding of their views and priorities on material sustainability issues affecting them using various methodologies such as online surveys, video call interviews etc

  • Exploring opportunities to enhance clients’ ESG reporting by incorporating emerging reporting best practices

  • Following and analysing market trends, best practices, reporting frameworks and policy/regulation on ESG disclosure to position clients as industry-leading in their respective fields

  • Developing relationships and maintain a network of related stakeholders

  • Conducting annual benchmarking of ESG reporting in the various industries Grow’s clients operate in, including identification of market best practices and opportunities for continued improvements/enhancements

  • Creating training content and delivering training courses and other capacity building programs in the field of Sustainability & ESG

 

Candidate Profile:

We are ideally seeking a candidate with the following qualifications and skills:

  • At least 2 years relevant work experience in an ESG/sustainability role and/or consulting/strategy role

  • Financial background or good understanding of applying financial and accounting principles in the Sustainability profession

  • Previous experience with financial or non- financial reporting and/or auditing

  • Familiarity with ESG rating indices (e.g., MSCI, Sustainalytics, S&P etc.)

  • Experience in Risk Management

  • Passion for and understanding of ESG issues and trends, as well as industry best practices and frameworks relating to sustainability and impact reporting

  • Excellent writing and verbal presentation skills, with the ability to distil and communicate complex details and data into consumable insights

  • Exceptional project management and organizational skills, including attention to detail

  • Strong executive presence, with the ability to present to senior management and external stakeholders
